Tailored weight-loss advice and prescription assessment
Pharmacist-led weight management
Personal advice.
A plan that fits your health.
Looking for personalised weight-loss advice and an assessment for prescription treatment? Speak with a UK pharmacist independent prescriber about your health, eating habits and goals. Your online weight-management consultation combines tailored dietary and lifestyle advice with an individual assessment of whether medical treatment is appropriate.
A consultation does not guarantee a prescription. Your health, preferences and safety guide every decision.
Start your assessment
£30 consultation
Includes an individual clinical assessment, tailored advice and, if appropriate, an electronic private prescription. Medicine costs are separate from the consultation fee. You can use your chosen UK pharmacy, or ask us to arrange home delivery through an online pharmacy. Medicine and any delivery charges are paid separately to the dispensing pharmacy; we do not dispense medicines.
Complete the questionnaire so we can review your request and explain the next steps. Further information or checks may be needed.
Three steps to your assessment
01
Tell us about your health
Share your goals, medical history, medicines and previous approaches to managing your weight.
02
Agree an individual plan
Discuss dietary changes, activity and suitable options with your pharmacist prescriber. Medicine is considered only when appropriate.
03
Review and adjust
Agree follow-up to review progress, nutrition, tolerability and any treatment. If prescribed, choose pharmacy collection or ask about home delivery through an online pharmacy. Medicine and any delivery costs are separate.
Tailored weight-management advice
This service is for adults who want to discuss their circumstances, understand suitable options and agree a practical plan with a pharmacist prescriber. There is time in the consultation to raise questions about dietary changes, treatment risks and your preferences. A private prescription is considered only after assessing your individual needs and safety.
Dietary and lifestyle support
Your consultation includes practical advice tailored to your routines, preferences and health. We discuss balanced meals, portion sizes, hydration, physical activity, sleep and sustainable habits.
We can help you identify realistic changes and discuss further support or referral where needed. Dietary advice continues alongside any appropriate treatment; medicine does not replace a balanced diet and activity.

Weight-management questions and medicine information
Read more about assessment, follow-up and UK-licensed medicines below. This information supports an informed conversation; it is not a recommendation for a particular medicine or confirmation that we can prescribe or source it.
Who can have a weight-management consultation?
Our online service assesses adults seeking support with weight management. For many medicines, the adult weight-management licence covers a starting BMI of at least 30, or at least 27 with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure. Criteria differ by medicine and NHS access rules are separate.
BMI alone does not determine suitability. Your prescriber considers your health, medicines, goals and any need for another service. Treatment may be unsuitable even if you meet a BMI threshold.
What treatment options may be discussed?
Your plan may focus on dietary and lifestyle changes, further assessment or referral. Where appropriate, your prescriber can discuss licensed medical treatments, their expected benefits, risks and alternatives. No particular medicine is guaranteed.
UK-licensed weight-management medicines include injectable and oral products. Authorisation does not establish current pharmacy stock or availability through MyPharmacyServices. We confirm suitability, our prescribing scope and pharmacy supply before any treatment is arranged. Unlicensed or unavailable products are not offered as routine treatment options.
Wegovy (semaglutide): injection information
Wegovy contains semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist that acts on appetite regulation. The injection is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased activity for weight management in eligible patients. It is usually given once weekly, with gradual dose increases directed by the prescriber.
Benefits vary and treatment requires review. Common adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and abdominal pain. Important risks include dehydration, gallbladder problems and pancreatitis. Tell your prescriber about diabetes, eye disease, kidney problems, stomach-emptying problems and all other medicines. Do not use if allergic to its ingredients.
Read the UK Wegovy injection patient leaflet, including the full warnings and instructions. Injection and tablet doses are not interchangeable.
Wegovy tablets: are they licensed in the UK?
Yes. The MHRA authorised Wegovy (semaglutide) tablets for adult weight management on 11 June 2026. This is a prescription-only, once-daily oral formulation, used with dietary changes and increased activity. It is distinct from the injection and from other semaglutide brands.
The tablet has specific fasting, water and waiting-time instructions that affect absorption. Follow the leaflet and prescription exactly; do not switch formulations or doses yourself. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation can occur, and the medicine carries important GLP-1 precautions. Suitability and ongoing benefit require review.
UK authorisation is confirmed; supply through this service and your pharmacy must be checked individually. Read the MHRA approval notice and UK Wegovy tablets patient leaflet.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide): injection information
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which acts at GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Its UK adult weight-management indication is alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased activity in eligible patients. It is administered once weekly; the prescriber starts at a low dose and adjusts it gradually.
Common adverse effects include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation. Risks include dehydration, pancreatitis, gallbladder problems and low blood sugar when combined with certain diabetes medicines. Discuss previous pancreatitis, severe digestive problems, eye disease and other medicines. Do not use if allergic to its ingredients. Results and tolerability vary.
Mounjaro can reduce oral contraceptive effectiveness: use an additional barrier method or switch to a non-oral method for four weeks after starting and for four weeks after each dose increase. Discuss pregnancy planning and contraception before treatment.
Read the UK Mounjaro KwikPen patient leaflet for the full safety information and device instructions.
Foundayo (orforglipron): what is its UK status?
Foundayo is the brand name for orforglipron. UK product information published in August 2026 confirms a prescription-only, once-daily film-coated tablet licensed for adult weight management alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased activity. It also has a separate type 2 diabetes indication. It is not oral Mounjaro or oral Wegovy.
It acts at GLP-1 receptors and may support weight reduction, but benefit and tolerability differ between individuals. Common adverse effects include nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting. Important precautions include pancreatitis, dehydration, digestive problems and interactions with other medicines. Do not take it if allergic to its ingredients. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and contraception require discussion with your prescriber.
Licensing does not guarantee availability through this service or stock at your pharmacy. This section is information, not an offer of supply. Read the UK Foundayo patient leaflet for full indications, warnings and instructions.
When might medicine or this online service be unsuitable?
Tell your prescriber if you are pregnant, trying for a baby or breastfeeding; have an eating disorder, previous pancreatitis, severe stomach or bowel problems, kidney or liver problems, diabetes complications, or recent bariatric surgery. These need individual assessment and may mean a different approach or referral is safer.
Do not combine weight-management medicines, use someone else’s prescription or change doses without advice. Tell any team planning surgery or sedation about these medicines, because they can affect stomach emptying. Each product has its own contraindications and warnings; read its UK leaflet.
What side effects need urgent help?
Seek urgent medical advice for severe, persistent abdominal pain, which may spread to your back, with or without vomiting: this can be pancreatitis. Stop the medicine and obtain urgent assessment if pancreatitis is suspected. Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea can cause dehydration and also needs advice.
Call 999 for signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as breathing difficulty or swelling of the face or throat. Seek urgent advice for sudden loss of vision or a rapid change in eyesight. Report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme; this does not replace medical care.
How do reviews, prescriptions and home delivery work?
We usually begin with a one-month prescription where appropriate and review monthly. Reviews consider your progress, nutrition, side effects and whether continuing treatment is suitable. Dose changes and stopping decisions depend on the medicine and your clinical response.
If prescribed, an electronic private prescription can be sent to your chosen UK pharmacy. If you prefer home delivery, we can help arrange this through an online pharmacy, subject to prescription acceptance, stock and delivery arrangements. The dispensing pharmacy confirms the medicine price and any delivery charge, which are separate from our consultation fee. MyPharmacyServices provides consultations and prescribing; medicines are dispensed separately. Ask us about follow-up fees before arranging further appointments.
Can I have advice without a prescription?
Yes. Dietary and lifestyle advice is part of the consultation whether or not medicine is appropriate. Your prescriber may recommend further checks or another service. You can discuss your concerns, preferences and alternatives before agreeing a plan.
